5 Things I Need To Thank My Dad For

Dear Daddy,
         There are so many things I could thank you for. The list would be so long that you'd probably fall asleep after the first 20 paragraphs. And so, knowing your love for reading is not as strong as mine, I have shortened my list to the top 5. These are from the bottom of my heart, and I hope you enjoy reading it :) So, here we go, 5 things I'd like to thank you for! I love you!

1) Showing Me What True Love Is

I have watched the love you have for mom my entire life. You never fail to tell her how much you appreciate her and care for her. You have shown me the unfailing love of not only a husband, but also a father. You have loved me since you first saw me as well as AnnaMay, Ella and Mia. You are such a great example of the Father's love for us. You also have shown me love for other things, such as music. So, thank you. For showing me what true love is through the love you have for our family and through your passion for music. I love you!

2) For Being My Superhero

There are so many things I've needed "saved" from in life. From my own decisions, to awkward situations. You've swooped down each time and helped me out. Thank you for always being my protector. I know I can always count on you to guide me with your love and your faith!

3) Showing Me Strength

Sometimes life gets stressful and hard. Being on this boat trip has shown us all that! Haha! But, through it all you show me how to keep the faith and stay strong through it all. Strength comes from The Lord, and you have always proven that to me time and time again. Thank you, for showing His strength through the things you do!

4) For Never Giving Up On Me

You have always told me to follow my heart. Even when I was scared to. Because of your faith in me I was able to travel the world. I even got you to travel it with me! Thank you for pushing me to follow my dreams, and for never giving up on me. Even when I stumbled a few times.

5) For Forever Being My Knight In Shining Armor

Ever since I was little I've dreamed of meeting my "knight in shining armor." Never truly realizing until later years, that you are him. You've watched over and protected my heart for years, and you still do. Thank you for guarding me and for keeping my heart safe. I'm a better woman because of you.

Dad, thank you for everything you've taught me and continue to teach me. I love you so much!

As I've reflected over my weekend I can't help but want to both laugh and cry.      To backtrack, my youngest sister Mia was life-flighted to MOTT's Children's Hospital in Michigan  on Thursday June 2nd. I was out at the movies with a friend and was messaged by my mother informing me that the pain Mia had been feeling after her heart surgery was due to fluid buildup. After further investigation they decided to take her to MOTT for admittance. My mom would be in the helicopter with her but my dad was going to drive up. My Story Of Depression

I've been wanting to write about my story for months....but wasn't quite sure what to write. This is such a delicate subject, and not just for me, but I think for everyone on this earth. You simply utter the word "depression" and the mood changes in the air. It's a very real, very horrible thing that is on this earth. I recently watched the movie "Ragamuffin" it is a documentary of the life of Rich Mullins, the writer of many popular worship songs. Throughout his entire career he suffered with loneliness, drinking and depression. Watching this movie encouraged me to share my story that I've kept quiet for a year now. It's time to tell more than just a few people, it's time to share with everyone and show them what Jesus did in my life. 6 Things I Need To Tell My Mom

Growing up we have ups and downs, good days, bad days, horrible days, amazing days. And through it all there is always one person (besides God and of course my dad) who has been there through it all. My mom. So here are 6 things I need to tell my mom. 1) You really are my best friend. Throughout life I've had many girls I have called my "best friend." You've been there to help me when a friendship was hard or difficult. Laugh with me at the funny memories and cry with me through the sad ones. Early on in life I always saw you as someone who knew about my friendships but never someone who I could have a friendship with. BOY! Was I wrong or what? Throughout all of these "best friends" only a few have remained and one of those is you. I never realized how much you were truly my best friend until a few years ago.
