7 Things You Need To Know About Me

This is me. Nina. I'm 19, a wanderluster, an avid book reader, a big sister and a Creole speaker! (Mwen renmen Ayiti) A lot has changed in my life throughout my 19 years of living, but there are a few things that will forever stay the same. So, enjoy learning more about me, the girl who writes this crazy little blog :)

1) I'm a Christian

I have been a Christian since I was four.  I was baptized at the age of six and hit the ground running after that. God has led me down very adventurous roads, such as trips to Africa and Haiti. He has also taught me the value of family and friends and how short life on earth may be. I would be utterly lost without Him guiding me through this crazy life. I am so broken, but He loved me enough to send His son to die for my sins. I am amazed by Him and unashamed to give Him all the glory!

2) I'm an introvert

As lame as it may seem, I would much rather talk to you through texting or letters. No phone calls, confrontation, or sit downs please. I don't really look forward to parties or big crowds of people. Don't get me wrong, I go out and have fun and talk to people, it's just not my favorite. Chances are, while I'm talking to you, I'm showing one of my signs of social anxiety. I will play with my wrings, cross my arms, slide my necklace back and forth or look down frequently. I don't really make eye contact, and if I do, count yourself as someone special. I'm not trying to be disrespectful, I'm just really not good at talking face to face with people. Sorry! Any complaints may be texted to me ;)

3) I'm a music addict

This is pretty much me, minus the dancing. Dancing is not one of my strengths, although I can be found dancing with my friend Brittany Bae every now and then. I listen to music ALL THE TIME. And if music isn't on my phone or the radio you can most likely hear me singing it. If I'm not singing it, chances are, it's still playing in my head. I love to sing so much. It keeps me sane. It keeps my emotions in tact. And, most importantly, it helps me further worship God. He granted me the gift of song and what better way to use the gift I've been given then to sing praises to Him! Music is my life, after my faith of course!

4) I'm a grazer

Taking me out to eat is quite a trip. Half of the time I won't finish my food. I'm what my mother calls "a grazer." Most days I eat every 2 or 3 hours. I'll grab some snacks and then a few hours later grab some more. At lunch and dinner I have very small servings and at restaurants I just order whatever, knowing that I'll get a to-go box and have some for lunch the next day! Everyone says that grazing is the healthiest way to eat, but I don't even do it for that benefit, I just do it because thats how I've always eaten. So next time we go out to eat keep in mind that I've already been eating all day!

5) I'm picky about my clothes

This isn't something I actually thought of off the top of my head, it's something my mom brought up. She said something about me not having a good sense of style, but me being picky about it anyways. Which, I guess, is true. As much as I would love to be as fashionable as my best friend Morgan, I will probably never reach that goal. I'm much too picky, from patterns to buttons to the way things feel. It's pretty hard to take me shopping. If anyone has any fashion tips they're welcome!

6) I'm afraid of clowns

It's the truth. I can't stand them. They are just plain creepy. If I'm at a birthday party and I see a clown....oh boy. I'm probably going to be hiding in a corner or leaving shortly. I don't do clowns. That creepy little smile painted on their face....whats hiding behind that smile? And, have you ever seen the trailer for the movie "It"? That will forever give me nightmares, I don't even wanna see the movie. Nopety nope nope. Just. No.

7)I'm a lover not a fighter

I'm one of those girls that loves everyone she meets right from the start. I don't ever stop loving someone and I give them my all. Sometime's it's hard, but it is so worth it. God has given me a special kind of love and I count it a blessing to be able to share that love with others. So, yes, I'm a lover not a fighter...BUT...I will fight for the ones I love. If you ever need someone to talk to, a shoulder to cry on or just an encouraging word, know that I'll be there. No matter what.

I Love All Of You <3
