To The Girl Who Loves With All Her Heart

Image
"I'm braver because of the heartache, because not only am I willing to take chances on people, I'm willing to give someone else the chance to get the love I think they deserve." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dear Girl Who Loves With All Her Heart, You're special. Sometimes life gets really tough.  Sometimes  you get hurt really bad. But, the best thing about you is your loving heart. Sure, sometimes it's hard to love people, but we all know deep down inside that you'll never stop. You're so special. You don't even have to force yourself to love someone. It begins automatically, as soon as you meet someone, and it never stops. Your love is amazing, my dear, so don't ever hide it. You're loved too. I know sometimes you may feel forgotten, misunderstood, or alone. But, you're not. You're loved too. M...

7 Things You Need To Know About Me

Image
This is me. Nina. I'm 19, a wanderluster, an avid book reader, a big sister and a Creole speaker! (Mwen renmen Ayiti) A lot has changed in my life throughout my 19 years of living, but there are a few things that will forever stay the same. So, enjoy learning more about me, the girl who writes this crazy little blog :) 1) I'm a Christian I have been a Christian since I was four.  I was baptized at the age of six and hit the ground running after that. God has led me down very adventurous roads, such as trips to Africa and Haiti. He has also taught me the value of family and friends and how short life on earth may be. I would be utterly lost without Him guiding me through this crazy life. I am so broken, but He loved me enough to send His son to die for my sins. I am amazed by Him and unashamed to give Him all the glory! 2) I'm an introvert As lame as it may seem, I would much rather talk to you through texting or letters. No phone calls, confront...

*Wanderlust*

wan·der·lust /ˈwändərˌləst/   noun noun: wanderlust::            a strong desire to travel. I can't help but have a connection with this word. I love to travel! There is no certain place I need to be traveling to, or a certain amount of time, I just simply love it. We could be going to someplace only a few hours away and I'm already hooked. I grab my phone, my headphones and my portable charger and I'm good to go. I am a proud wanderluster! (new word?)  My love for travel has always been present but it really began in 2010-2011, my first year of touring choir. I traveled to Canada my first year and I was lost in the adventure from day one. After that my choir proceeded to travel to places such as New York, California, and the last trip I attended with my lovely choir family was to Europe. In between those summer tours I also took a few trips on my own. One being to Africa and a few others to Haiti. Needless to say I'm 19...

A New View

Image
"He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed." Psalm 107:29       If you know me, and most of you that read this blog do, you'll know that I kind of have a thing for storms. Ok, not kind of....I have a major thing for storms. Over the years I've learned to appreciate the relaxation they give me, the sound of the rain hitting everything in sight, the roll of the thunder and the crash of the lightning. All of it's glory bursting forth and covering the earth, it keeps me captivated from beginning to end. But, I've learned something new this week.       Because I live in Ohio I've learned that the weather does what it wants, and if you've been around this week it has stormed big time for the past two days.  Unfortunately, yesterday, I was caught up with a few things so I didn't really have time to sneak away and storm watch. But, today, today was different, and it's opened my eyes up to a new world.       Usually...

Dear Neverland

Image
Dear Neverland,       Thank you. Thank you for keeping my imagination alive! For helping me believe in the kind of magic that helps you fly, the kind of magic that helps you believe in yourself. For bringing out the lost girl in me, helping me to be adventurous and travel to wonderful places such as Haiti and Africa. Without the adventure you awakened in me, I would have never had the faith or trust to fly high. I would've been stuck on the ground like Captain Hook and running from my own crocodiles. But, thanks to you, my lost girl personality kicked in and I made friends around the world. But I also did so much more!       I flew. On an airplane, yes, but in those moments my heart was flying even higher. The rush of the adventure, of the great unknown pulling me in. It was terrifying, exhilarating, amazing. I never knew I could fly as high as Tinkerbell. I was a little like Micheal I guess. I wanted my teddy bear to come with me for security. And, o...

Things To Expect When Traveling The World With Your BFF

Image
As most people know I was a part of a wonderful group known as the SCS (Summit Choral Society.) I was a member for exactly 11 years! It was an amazing experience and increased my love for music beyond measure. The last 4 years of my experience with this program was spent with my Touring Choir. In those 4 years we toured Canada, the southern states, New York and a few other places, California and Europe. So, now that you have the basics down, meet Sammy. One of my best friends! She is my soul mate friend, the one who understands me and is just like me...but actually not. We are both opposite ends of the introvert spectrum, but we both LOVE music and have been through so much together. Our friendship never grows old! I have traveled each tour with her, and with that in mind here goes my post! (WARNING: Pictures will appear randomly throughout this post) 1) YOU WILL BORROW EACH OTHERS CLOTHES You know that fancy dinner that wasn't on your schedule? Well guess what! There is on...
