The Story Of A Girl (Inspired By Bethel Music)
This blog is going to be a little different, instead of writing on a topic, or giving my opinion, or pouring my heart out to the people who mean most to me. I'm simply going to pour my heart out. I absolutely love this song by Bethel Music and Jenn Johnson. It explains something that everyone goes through at some point in their faith. While listening to it today I began to picture the story in my head, and so I wrote one. I hope you enjoy it :) Take a listen to the song and then check out the story below :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As she steps closer to the place where the sand and the water meet, she hesitates, thinking of everything building up inside of her.
That place of meeting....that place of longing.
Her heart is full, yet longing for more, more of something. Her spirit is thirsty.
She longs for it to be filled.
She's ready for this something to come do whatever it wants to do. So, she takes a step into the water.
She wades in until she is knee deep. Still longing, yet afraid of the unknown. She's never been here before.
Then, she feels it. The something she's longing for is coming. She hears it whisper her name in the wind. She starts to wade in farther, beginning to swim out to meet it.
In that moment she opens every door of emotion in her heart that she's kept locked up for days, months, years. Her heart begs for a love that will return and teach her again about this something she so desperately seeks.
She begins swimming now, hoping and praying that this something can take her heart back to the place where it was all about the thing she now longs for.
She is no longer afraid as she kicks through the waves.
She is ready.......
Then it comes, the something has come. He has come....her Abba Father. God.
His wave of love, grace, and mercy crashes over her. As she lets the undertow of His light take over, she loses control.
But, she is finally free.
She is in way over her head, but she feels His presence and knows this is where He wants her to be in this moment.
She is flooded with His glory.
As she floats in the waves she is full of peace, knowing that whether she sinks or swims it makes no difference when she is beautifully in over her head.
Surrounded by His presence and glory.
Beautifully in over her head.
